Q: Where did you get the idea for Between?
A: The idea, in its original form, had been batting around inside my head for about twelve years before I started writing the book, some seven and a half years ago. My readings in the metaphysical area, plus some of the work I have done as a Transformational Therapist, sparked my interest in writing about what happens to us after death, or when we’re otherwise not in our bodies (asleep, anesthetized, comatose, etc.). The first couple of versions had many of the same characters, but they had different professions and relationships, and the plot line was quite different.
Q: Max is my favorite character. Did you model him after your own cat?
A: I do not have a cat at the present time. I have, however, lived in close contact with a number of cats and developed the highest respect for them. If one should appear my life at some point in my journey, I will certainly call him ‘Max,’ unless he informs me that he already has a different name.
Q: Don’t you think Katie seems a bit precocious for an eight-year-old child?
A: Not at all. I’ve known several young children, my daughter included, who were as precocious as Katie.
Q: What, exactly, was Minerva’s younger life like? How did she start doing what she does?
A: You’ll find that out in the sequel to Between, when it’s completed.
